Description

Dr. Abhinav Sharma’s group at McGill University is seeking a master's graduate student, preferably with a background
in bioengineering and computer science. The position is available starting from fall 2024. The environment is
exceptional as it brings together a team of clinicians, clinical staff members, scientists, machine learning specialists,
graduate student trainees and industry. The researcher will learn about good clinical research practices and conducts
in the cardiovascular disease space in addition to expertise with digital health and use of digital health tools in medicine.
The project involves evaluating the use of digital health technologies in patients with cardiovascular disease

‘The job consists of conducting research in:

- Conducting the research (writing of protocols, communication with REB, data collection, analysis of results)
- Publishing peer-reviewed publications
- Assist with the writing of competitive grant applications

Position Requirements

- B.Sc. in bioengineering or computer science or health science would be preferred but not required

- Preferably a student located in Quebec but condition not required

- McGill University acceptance for the Masters program in the division of experimental medicine before the
start date.

- Previous research experience is positively viewed but not required.

‘The Lab of Dr. Abhinav Sharma

The research group focuses on two major themes: 1) Cardiovascular outcomes and therapy optimization in patients
with diabetes and heart failure; 2) Use of digital health to streamline follow-up and therapy selection in patients with
heart failure. We aim to develop new tools to leverage novel biomarkers, digital data, and electronic health records to
conduct clinical studies, optimize patient data collection, and enhance knowledge translation.
