Description
Save the Elephants (STE) invites applications for two fully funded Master of Science (MSc) scholarships for the 2025 academic year. The program supports Kenyan nationals passionate about conservation, aiming to build future leaders in biodiversity and environmental protection.
STE's mission is to protect elephants and their habitats, foster human-wildlife coexistence, and promote research. The scholarship supports full-time MSc studies at Karatina University in the Department of Natural Resources Management or Environmental Science.
Eligibility Criteria:
Kenyan national with a Bachelor’s degree in Natural Sciences (Biology, Botany, Zoology, Environmental Science, etc.). Minimum Second-Class Upper Division from a recognized university. At least 2 years of conservation experience (including internships).
Unconditional MSc admission letter from Karatina University (must be secured independently). Under 35 years old as of 1st September 2025. A one-page research concept note is desirable (not mandatory).
Scholarship Covers:
- Full tuition fees and research costs
- Standard computer and relevant software
- Monthly living stipend
- Basic medical insurance
- A STE scientist will be assigned as part of the student’s academic supervision committee.

- Application letter addressed to The Research Fund Administrator, Save the Elephants
- CV with contact details for three referees (one academic)
- First-degree certificates and transcripts
- MSc admission letter (or official proof of eligibility)
- Optional: 1-page research concept note
