Description

Laboratory for Energy and Switching-Electronic Systems at the University of Illinois Chicago is looking for power-electronics / power-semiconductor-device / power-integrated-circuit students and researchers, interested in pursuing his/her Ph.D. starting Spring 2025.

Areas of focus are as follows:

Topic 1: Solid-state transformer
Topic 2: Electric vehicle charger
Topic 3: Biomedical power electronics
Topic 4: Resilient inverter
Topic 5: Optically-controlled ultrafast power semiconductor device
Topic 6: High-frequency power-electronics integrated circuits (ICs)

All positions seek highly qualified candidates with excellent academic standing, and possessing demonstrated hardware design, fabrication, and testing experience in power electronics for Topics 1-4 and/or demonstrated device and/or IC design, fabrication, and characterization experience for Topics 5 and 6.
