Description

Two fully funded PhD positions (Fellowships/Research Assistantship/Teaching Assistantship) or Postdoc’s within the CECE Department at UCF to work on one of the research directions:
(1) structural engineering with research experience in strain/displacement measurement and nondestructive evaluation (e.g., acoustic emission, thermal imaging, robotic vision);
(2) sensor development and integration for smart cities (e.g., IoT, energy harvesting, sensor fusion);
(3) photogrammetry, image/signal processing, or data science (e.g., computer vision with coding experience in Python or C++, machine learning);
(4) UAV-based (or satellite-based) remote sensing for built/natural environments (e.g., LiDAR, thermal, multispectral imaging).
We seek strong applicants with rich hands-on experience in experiments. Applicants with CE/ME/EE/CS backgrounds are preferred.
The intended start date for the two positions is Spring/Fall 2025.
